Sura AL-FÂTIHA

Bismi Llâhi Rrahmâni Rrahîm
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Alhamdu li Llâhi rabbi l ‘âlamîn
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the universe.
Arrahmâni rrahîm
The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful,
Mâliki yawmi ddîn
Master of the Day of Retribution.
Iyyâka na’boudou wa-iyyâka nasta’în
It is You [Seul] that we adore, and it is You [Seul] from whom we implore help.
Ihdina ssîrâta l-moustaqîm
Guide us to the right path,
Ssirâta lladhîna an’amta ‘alayhim, ghayri l-maghdûbi ‘alayhim wala ddâllîn
The path of those whom You have blessed with favor, not of those who have incurred Your wrath, nor of those who have gone astray.

Sura al-Fâtiha is the only sura in the Koran whose recitation is obligatory in every prayer unit. This is equivalent to reciting it 17 times a day (2 + 4 + 4 + 3 + 4).
